Oh Lois! This just made me laugh! I totally agree with you on the magic of birthdays having worn itself out. One year Dax and I went to San Angelo for my birthday since I had a concert to play. I noticed he didn't pack any gifts or cards so I was curious as to what his plan was. He had a lot of free time during my rehearsal and when I got back to the hotel I saw a few gifts on the bed. Alright! Wait a minute...nevermind. My sweet husband had gone to Walgreens and bought me a poker set, a candy bar, and a magazine. I tried to get through a game of poker but was not too motivated.

Also, he knows I'm not a huge fan of throwing cookouts. It's a lot of work, and growing up, my family rarely had guests over so I'm just not great at it and it gives me a lot of tension. What did I get this year? A cookout. We had a great time, but I told him never again! : )

Sorry my comments are so long, but that's how I am. I hope you are enjoying your lovely smelling pajamas in the meantime.

Hi Lois! I've been thinking of creating my own blog for awhile now so it's great to visit yours. I'm here to say going tv free is worth it! We're going on 4 months now! Hannah does get her zombie time every once in awhile though, I have to admit. She loves musicals and watches them on the laptop along with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse which keeps her busy while I make dinner. I'm looking forward to your other posts and hopefully mine will get started soon.

I completely agree with you on this topic Lois. This is too one of the reasons I love the Catholic Church. The children (most of them anyways) attend mass with their parents, all sit together as a family, participate in the liturgy as a family and approach the altar for communion as a family.
It is beautiful to worship together!
